BK Flea Top Five 5/30/09

31 May

After spending a week in California with my family (although I miss them dearly) it was nice to get back in the swing of things and start my weekend off at the Brooklyn Flea Market. The day could not have been better. Picture it: the sun was shinning, the birds were chirping, the air was filled with the mouth watering aroma of all the various food vendors, great records were playing and then this mother walks by with her child in this absolutely to die for baby carriage. I mean seriously I wish I could of snapped a better pic so that you could see all the detail, but trust me, it was perfect! People in New York and Brooklyn particularly have such great style! This picture will defiantly be filed away as a “must have” when I one day (very far from now) decided its time to become a mommy =)

Check out the other great finds I found yesterday.

Enjoy!

BK Flea Top 5:
Vintage Belt Buckle, 1940’s Thimble & Gold Heart Charm $10 total *including bracelet not pictured*
-I plan to make a necklace out of the belt buckle & heart and the thimble is going in my “design studio” as inspiration.

Vintage Drinking Glasses
$5 Each

-I love nostalgia, which is why I would thoroughly enjoy a scoop of homemade ice cream topped with some fruit in this vintage glass.

“Rambler”
Vintage Picnic Jug
I want to plan a picnic at Prospect Park, just so I can bring this along.

Vintage 1970’s Necklace
$20

-My friend Vanessa picked up this amazing necklace which she plans to wear with her purple maxi dress.

“Two Hearts Intertwined”
By: Laura Lofaro, Arbor Arts NYC

$4 for magnet
-Amazing photography capturing the unexpected in tree branches. Check out her site, she takes custom orders.
