My Birthday Wish List: Day 2

3 Nov
I came across these suede shorts while at Lenox mall last week in Atlanta and fell head over heels for them, but at $198 I couldn’t justify making the purchase.  I must say though that the minute they go on sale the shorts are mine!  Unless of course they come my way via a gift… if so size small please! And who wouldn’t want a pair of burnt orange tights to layer with their Fall wardrobe. I mean seriously, what a nice alternative to black.

Anthro style and illustration all in one, how lovely! Anthropologie never ceases to amazing me.  I love there creative approach to everything that they do. What an awesome team they have working for them. And by the way, did you notice that jacket on image #4, to die for!  and those tights in the last photo are a must for sure!

Anthropologie Opens Accessories Only Shop!!!

20 Oct
I just found out via StyleList that Anthropologie will be opening their very 1st Accessories only shop and I couldn’t be more thrilled.  The store is set to open October 29th in Chevy Chase, MD and will carry accessories and 50% footwear. How exciting!  Anthro always has the best accessories, I cant imagine a store devoted to just that!  And shoes…. oh my… you usually can only get those online so this will be a real treat.  My next trip to DC will for sure have to include a stop by Chevy Chase to check this out.
Above is my current “accessories must haves” from Anthropologie.  Hopefully they will all be stocked in the store once it opens.

Have you stopped by Anthropologie’s site today? If not… hurry over. The have this great interactive video posted featuring their “October Outfits” that I think you will find a perfect treat. Its like a whimsical day caught on film. I mean who wouldn’t to spend a day starting off at the bookstore, stopping by the flower shop and bakery while enjoying a wonderful bike ride and ending at a quint little cafe… although with outfits to match.  I for one would love to spend an upcoming Sunday JUST like this.

Artistic Hair Frill’s by Anthropologie

28 Mar

You may have seen these wonderful little works of art over on the Anthropologie website but I couldn’t resist sharing theme again.  Anthro continues to shock us with their creativity when it comes to the presentation of their product. I love these current works of art used to showcase some of their new “hair frills”.  How lovely would they look pained on wood and hung up in a hair salon in  Soho, NY? Simply fab!

Mona Lisa Smile…

25 Jan

Have you seen the new Mid Century, 50’s proper collection for Anthropologie. As you know I absolutely love anything and everything Anthro does (for the most part) but I especially love their visual displays and editorial photo shoots. I love how they create a story (which you can read about here) and then tell that story in order to show out a new assortment of clothes or a new collection of Home Decor. To me it gives new store bought items a nice vintage twist by giving them a story or background if you will. When you put on this skirt above or the beret below you feel as if you become a character in a long lost book or as Anthro likes to put an actress in Mona Lisa Smiles… And did you see those platforms above… swoon!!!

(perfect for spring… the Painters Work Skirt)

(showcase effortless style in this Reed Shirtdress)

(click here to see the fabulous bracelet the model is wearing..
baubles, pearls and faucet oh, my!)

(finish your outfit off with the buckled cummerbund)

(love that clutch)

Now I just have to decide which pieces would fit into the novel of my life (ie. my closet)… Hum, I think I might go watch Mona Lisa Smile for a little inspiration myself. I’ve never seen the movie, but if inspired this spread, its sure to inspire me.

Ciao my lovelies!

Fallon

Anthropologie, Rockefeller Center- Christams 09

25 Dec

As you all know I have a great deal of love and respect for the window displays at Anthropologie, and they never seem to disappoint come Christmas time. The pictures above and below were taken on my iphone (so I apologize in advance that the quality is not the greatest). Yesterday I flew out to California for Christmas (thanks to a certain special someone) so Monday of this week I decided it was time to snap out of my bah-humbug mood and get into the Christmas spirit. So after work I first wandered the outdoor shops at Bryant Park, then headed up town where my first stop was Bergdrof Goodman (pics to follow shortly. If you are ever in NYC for the holidays there windows really are a must. Then I walked to Rockefeller center (a favorite destination this time of year) to check out “the tree” and all of the festivities. After that I had to go by Anthro… but unfortunately it was already past 10pm and they were closed… but fear not I still got to enjoy the windows with is always one of my favorite parts.

Holiday puzzles and tea by the fire anyone?

Milk and Cookies Anthro Style!!! I decided I want too make these to put by my fireplace next year for Santa 😉
And how lovely they make a overflowing fridge look!

This was one of my favorites… Who wouldn’t want to own a super cute vintage pink and be surrounded by all that snow?! I know I sure would!

Happy Holiday’s Everyone!

Fallon

Marvels & Wonders: Photo Styling

6 Dec

While browsing the recently updated Anthropologie site I couldn’t help but be completely infatuated with their Marvels & Wonders feature. Not only is everything featured fabulous, but the true shinning star is the stunning styling of each photo. Just when I thought I had the whole Anthro aesthetic figured out they go and surprise me with something beyond my imagination. With is why I love them oh so much!!!

Below are my favorite Marvels & Wonders

Now that I am so inspired by this styling technique I cant wait to try and recreate it myself! Do you think they photo-shopped they two images together or actually had the sketches and styled them with the items?? It almost looks like the sketches are done on a foam cork board but I could be wrong. Have any of you done something like this before?

Dream Job (one of many…)

3 Oct

I seriously think working as an assistant buyer for Keith Johnson would be absolutely perfect for me. Who is Keith Johnson might you ask… well he is the buyer-at-large for Anthropologie. His main duties include traveling the world searching for unique, amazing, flea market finds; keeping in mind the Anthropologie aesthetic. He even gets to work closer with artist from all over the world, creating one of a kind original works of art. Ahhhhmazing!!! I mean I would kill just for a chance to spend a summer with him! Maybe we can work out some kind of internship thingy or something… I mean I would do it for free, just for the experience!

Well until that day comes at least I can sorta travel along with Keith as he searches the world… and so can you. Starting Oct. 7th on the Sundance channel you can join him on his worldwide treasure hunt in the new series Man Shops Globe. Check out the website for mini webisodes to hold you over until the big premier.

Anthropologie Meets "The Sartorialist"

30 Aug

Anthro catalogs are always so inspiring to me and this month was not a disappointment. I love these images from the new August 2009 Anthro Catalog. They have a very”sartorialist” feel to them, which in my opinion is genius given the popularity of The Sartorialist as well as his new book released in July. Anthropologie traveled the streets of NYC, London and Paris to find real stylish people to model their clothes. Above are my favorites from the bunch… to see the rest, click here and to shop the catalog click here.

The Sartorialist book available here. Oh, one more thing… while were Sartorialist book, you MUST click here and check out the video created over at Style Bubble.

Fallon
