Stella McCartney for Net-a-porter: Poem

Stella McCartney for Net-a-porter: Magnolia Tree

Stella McCartney for Net-a-porter: Kites

Stella McCartney for Net-a-porter: Island

I absolutely fell in love with this videos and wanted to share them all with you. More designers should take this approach to grow their fan base. I think it makes them more original, more artistic and a little less mainstream. *swoon*

Clear the Slate & Start Fresh…

2 Jan

While reading the Daily Republic this morning looking for coverage on my brothers basketball game from the previous day (FYI: they won the game and he was named ALL-Tournament.. MVP of the Holiday Classic) I came across a column named “Annie’s Mailbox” The column caught my eye as the title said “A reader’s poem to help get the new year started on the right foot”

So I read… I loved… and I thought I would share.

FNC & CJC getting the New Year started on the right foot.

Share your gift and talents
Listen with your heart.
Do the things you dream about
But don’t have time to start.
Pick a bouquet of flowers
Show someone that you care.
Be gracious and forgiving
Life is never fair.
Hold on to your courage
You may need it down the road.
We all have a cross to bear
It can be a heavy load.
If you practice all these things
No matter where you roam.
You may find both sun and rain
But you’ll never be alone.

*On a side note, next to the column was the daily horoscopes. I also thought I would share mine with you as well… and if your a fellow Scorpio, listen closely 🙂

January 1, 2009

Scorpio (Oct.24-Nov. 21) Learning is a key enterprise for you this year and you’re already engaged in the process of mental expansion. Regardless of the subject matter, going from ignorance to mastery is a thrilling journey.

…really gets you thinking huh!

Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right. -Oprah Winfrey

Expand your mind…Jackie O Style

30 Dec

“Jackie O”, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis to be exact was an extraordinary women… one that I, and many others admire greatly still to this day. She is a true American Icon and will never be forgotten.

What Would Jackie Do, An Inspired Guide to Distinctive Living is an amazing book I picked up about 4 years ago and have revisited in my recent trip back home for the holidays. One of the topics I found very interesting was Jackie’s reading list. I myself am always looking for new things to read and discover… which is why I plan on checking out all of the below. I can see it now… a rainy Sunday spent at the New York Public Library completely losing myself in one of Shakespeare Sonnets or a poem by Emily Dickerson. Aww…. just the thought brings a smile to my face. What a perfect “Sunday Afternoon”.

Please read the list below and Enjoy! Let me know what you think. Also look for a personal list from yours truly, including my favorites, ones I’m currently reading and one’s I’m looking forward to, coming in January 2009.

Jackie’s Reading List

…till the day I see you again.

The Path To Somewhere

21 Dec

Feeling too much
Just another girl
Who fell for your touch
When I’m with you I forget
All who where there before
There’s a sparkle in your eyes
That’s hard to ignore
Yet as I look deeper I see
The darkness and the pain
Of a man without a clue
Of how to stop the rain
Two clearly different paths
Placed in front of you
Either one will change your life
No idea which one to choose
Emotions taking over
The moment is fading away
Hold tight and listen close…
To what your heart has to say

Magical Situation

12 Dec

Collarbone kisses
Just like the middle of July
A heart that truly listens
Stars up in the sky
Hiding beneath the covers
Trying to subside
This feeling fully consuming
My mind, my heart,
On an emotional ride
Sinking fast…
No chance of being saved
Looking out for only myself
But its you that I crave
Timing can bring harm
to even the most magical situation
Yet amongst the chaotic mess…
Love is God’s shinning creation
